Clinical Director

About the role

The Clinical Director provides leadership, direction, and clinical supervision to a team of program and support staff, including supervisors. The incumbent manages the day-to-day operations of the assigned program, with the overall responsibility for program fidelity to the wraparound model, as well as quality assurance and compliance in accordance with contract requirements and Choices’ standards.

Responsibilities

• Manages caseloads for assigned team to ensure they are clinically appropriate and meet contract requirements.
• Balances the needs of families served with census expectations when necessary.
• Establishes and oversees the referral, enrollment, and discharge processes for the assigned program.
• Ensures team members maintain fidelity to the wraparound model by participating in training, following supervision protocols, and monitoring practice.
• Directs the hiring, training, and retention of staff at the assigned site.
• Works closely with other Clinical Directors, Executive Directors, and other Choices leadership to establish and implement strategic planning and quality improvement processes.
• Uses data to inform decision-making for quality assurance, program improvement, and staffing needs.
• Demonstrates fiscal responsibility, ensuring the program is financially sustainable.
• Serves as a liaison with various funders and other partners, while maintaining a strong presence in the community.
• Provides individual and group supervision for Wraparound Supervisors on a regular and ongoing basis, while demonstrating and promoting wraparound skill development.
• Willingly completes other duties as assigned to advance the mission of Choices.

Supervision

• In collaboration with the site’s Executive Director, leads the program’s Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) efforts.
• Collaborates with leadership across Choices to maintain current, effective, and timely curriculum for staff and supervisor training.
• Models effective coaching and mentoring skills with supervisors and develops these skills in supervisors.
• Trains supervisors on how to gather and use data to effectively lead teams of Wraparound Facilitators.
• Actively participates in internal and external training opportunities.
• Understands and can describe key components of all Choices’ programs/lines of service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of master’s degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or related human services field.
• Current licensure by the state(s) in which work is assigned as Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselor, or similar field preferred.
• Will consider candidates who are license-eligible and actively working toward a license.
• Minimum of five years of clinical and/or supervisory experience in community-based behavioral health and human services working with children/families.
• Significant supervisory experience developing leadership and initiative in staff, building consensus, resolving conflict and building teams.
• Demonstrated competence in providing and creating services for culturally diverse populations.
• Expertise in strength-based, trauma-informed programming, crisis intervention, family systems theory, and case management.
• Demonstrated skill in fiscal management activities and development preferred.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Bilingual skills (especially Spanish) a plus.
• CANS certification within 45 days of hire and at all times after.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license in state of residence and auto insurance.

Pay

Salary Range: $74-79,000
