Role Purpose

The registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) works within the interprofessional team and with the patient and family providing medical nutrition therapy (MNT); and conducts nutrition assessment, intervention, education, discharge planning, and care coordination to address prevention and treatment of one or more acute or chronic conditions or diseases.

Responsibilities

• Identifies nutrition related problems, determines nutrition diagnosis, prioritizes nutrition intervention and documents plan of care including writing diet orders and educating patient and families on nutrition plan of care.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure patient/client understanding of the nutrition support therapy prescription.
• Evaluates evidence that the nutrition intervention/plan of care is influencing a desirable change in the patient/client behavior or status.
• Reviews best available research/evidence and information for application to practice.
• Shares current, evidence-based knowledge, information with patients/clients, colleagues, and the public and tailors to the customers needs.
• Identifies efficient workflow patterns to optimize time management and maximize patient/client care outcomes.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Master's Degree
• Experience: No Experience
• Licenses & Certifications: Dietitn Lic for State Employed, Registered Dietitian Experience

• No Supervisor Experience
