Clinical Dietitian PRN

About the Role

The Clinical Dietitian PRN will be responsible for inpatient consults at St. David's Georgetown Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare. This role acts as a resource to the Dietary Manager and staff, assists with special projects and performance improvement initiatives, and provides coverage during weekends, holidays, and staff absences.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inpatient dietary consults and complete related chart documentation.
• Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to outpatients and outpatient counseling as requested.
• Schedule MNT appointments and bill services through Meditech.
• Provide Admission with an outpatient schedule, including physician referrals, on a weekly basis.
• Act as a resource for the Dietary Manager and Dietary staff.
• Assist with special projects and performance improvement (PI) initiatives as requested.
• Provide weekend and holiday Dietitian coverage for the department.
• Serve as a back-up Registered Dietitian to cover vacation or sick leave.
• Adhere to professional requirements, including dress code, annual education, and identification while on duty.
• Attend departmental and committee meetings as appropriate.
• Demonstrate professional behavior, including initiative, punctuality, confidentiality, and accountability.
• Volunteer to represent the organization in the community as needed.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited university with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition.
• ADA credentials of Registered Dietitian (R.D.).
• State of Texas licensure – Licensed Dietitian (L.D.).

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of clinical areas of nutrition practice.
• Ability to communicate prescribed nutrition therapy to patients.
• Preferred: Clinical dietetics experience in an acute care setting.
