About the Role
Provides comprehensive nutritional care to patients and residents with special needs or nutritional risks. Responsibilities include patient assessment and reassessment, developing and implementing nutritional care plans, patient and family education, interdisciplinary communication, and meticulous documentation of interventions in line with policies and standards.
Responsibilities
- Conducts initial and ongoing nutritional assessments to identify risks and evaluate responses to care plans.
- Develops and monitors individualized medical nutrition therapy, ensuring safe and effective intervention.
- Prioritizes patient care, assigns tasks to team members, and supervises data collection and documentation.
- Acts as an educational resource for healthcare team members, patients, families, and community members.
- Provides training and orientation to new staff and supports continuous learning opportunities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in food and nutrition; Master’s degree required if eligibility started after specified date.
- Completion of a dietetic internship or equivalent.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) certification within 6 months of residency completion.
- Preferred experience as a clinical dietitian.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and educational skills.
- Adherence to safety protocols, including vaccinations.
- Participation in E-Verify.
