Responsibilities
- Captures and coordinates workflow to meet project timelines and department goals.
- Serves as the primary supervisor for the C2 Clinical Development team, overseeing daily operations and staff.
- Available to assist with specimen processing to maintain efficient workflow.
- Monitors and oversees the use of lab automation equipment, ensuring its reliability and identifying opportunities for further automation.
- Procures necessary supplies and equipment to enhance department efficiency and adhere to budgetary and quality goals.
- Provides technical guidance and feedback to staff, addressing performance issues and documenting corrective actions.
- Evaluates team performance and development needs, collaborating with the Director in hiring new staff.
- Motivates team members to meet professional standards, demonstrating ethical behavior and promptly reporting potential errors affecting clinical study results.
- Identifies process improvements and areas of risk, monitoring inventory and specimen integrity.
- Ledges and participates in department and staff meetings, updates standard operating procedures, and attends safety programs.
- Maintains accurate timekeeping and payroll records, promotes safety, and troubleshoots freezer temperature issues.
- Performs other tasks as directed by the director.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years progressively responsible experience in relevant environments, or 3-5 years clinical laboratory experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proven skills in resolving operational problems and interpersonal conflicts.
- Ability to establish and maintain a supportive work environment that encourages employee involvement and continuous improvement.
- Strong clinical practices or familiarity with them preferred.
