About the role

The Clinical Dentist at NARA Northwest is responsible for providing comprehensive dental care services to the Native American and Alaska Native communities. This role requires a strong commitment to cultural appropriateness and collaboration with various healthcare entities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures culturally appropriate dental services
  • Maintains necessary credentialing, licensure, and CE requirements
  • Affirms and supports the development of collaborative and integrated services with NARA Northwest and its culture
  • Works closely with the Medical Director and the Dental Director to achieve high-quality services and outcomes
  • Develops and maintains relationships with the Nine Tribes of Oregon and other tribes across the country, the State of Oregon, and other healthcare entities
  • Represents NARA locally, statewide, and nationally as needed
  • Participates in and leads agency events and planning efforts
  • Develops and implements an integrated system of care for dental services throughout NARA
  • Collaborates with all components of NARA to provide the best services possible
  • Ensures programs are developed to meet client needs
  • Ensures client utilization of services is appropriate
  • Develops and monitors client outcomes

Requirements

Must have a current Oregon dental license and be willing to obtain additional certifications as required. Must also have experience working with diverse populations and a strong commitment to cultural sensitivity and collaboration.

Qualifications

Must have a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited school. Must have completed residency training in general dentistry and have experience in providing dental care to underserved populations. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to cultural competency are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with electronic health records systems is preferred.

$170,000.00 – $200,000.00 annual salary, Exempt

This is an in-person position, 4 days per week
