Description

Provides staff supervision in a specialized clinical area and collaborates with departmental leadership in the design, implementation, and evaluation of clinical pharmacy programs. Collaborates with departmental and patient care leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate the department's mission and service goals and objectives. Manages employee performance to support quality, timely, and cost-effective products and services. Participates on hospital committees and provides specialized pharmacotherapeutic representation. Assists with securing funding for clinical research. Writes and prepares professional articles and papers for publication and research. Assists in training new employees, pharmacy students, and residents involved in clinical pharmacological activities. Ensures appropriate therapy and outcomes by identifying, resolving, and preventing medication-related problems. Maintains personal commitment to professional development and excellence. Supports research projects with major outcomes or cost implications related to drug therapy. Writes and prepares pertinent professional material for publication and presentation. Performs related responsibilities as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Eligible for Georgia Licensure
  • Candidate must be licensed in Georgia prior to official start date
  • PGY1 and a PGY2 residency or equivalent experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required within 90 days and ACLS within 6 months of hire, if directly applicable to practice specialty
  • Masters degree preferred
  • Healthcare Provider certifications required

  • 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally)
  • 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently)
  • 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly)
  • Lifting 50 lbs max
  • Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs
  • Occasional to frequent standing & walking
  • Occasional sitting
  • Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)

Environmental Factors

  • Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and work tasks
  • Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure, bio-hazardous waste, chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting, patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, travel may be required
  • Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks
