Clinical Coordinator – Obstetrics Triage Remote / Hybrid - Must live in Central FL

About the Role

We are looking for an Insurance OB Triage Coordinator who excels in providing high-quality patient care by serving as the primary point of contact for patient triage in an Obstetrics setting. This role involves assessing patient needs, prioritizing clinical urgency, coordinating care, and ensuring seamless communication between patients and providers.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patient calls and messages to assess clinical needs and urgency.
  • Prioritize and direct patients to the appropriate level of care, including same-day appointments, emergency care, or routine visits.
  • Provide patient education and advice under the guidance of healthcare providers.
  • Handle approximately 75 calls per day.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient follow-up appointments, referrals to specialists, scheduling iron transfusions, handling IV hydration for hyperemesis and other pregnancy related issues.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and external medical facilities.
  • Ensure all necessary patient information is accurately documented and accessible for healthcare providers.
  • Sending all Prenatal records to the hospital in timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager to ensure smooth operation of the organization.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Must live in the Central Florida area.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an OB/GYN practice or related healthcare setting.
  • Solid clinical knowledge of obstetrics and gynecology, including medical terminology and basic medical procedures.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with patients, providers, and colleagues while contributing to a professional work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing responsibilities, multitask effectively, and manage time efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Proficient in computer skills.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Experience in patient triage, care coordination, and healthcare administrative functions.
  • Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare practice environment.
  • Experience with insurance verification and related administrative processes.
  • Experience using Athena health and/or Epic EMR systems.
  • Three (3) or more years of customer service experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience using medical terminology in a healthcare setting.
  • Three (3) or more years of computer proficiency in a professional healthcare environment.
