Clinical Clerk Part Time

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of clinical clerical tasks, including answering telephones, typing documents, dealing with clients, and filing records.
• Provides the following services to the health department district, which may require some weekly travel (travel will be done during work time with a department vehicle):
  • Immunizations/Travel: Focus on vaccine-preventable diseases for children and adults.
  • Baby Your Baby: Issue Baby Your Baby eligibility cards to pay for routine prenatal care visits, OB ultrasounds, some pregnancy-related medications, and other outpatient pregnancy-related services for a limited amount of time.
  • Outreach Services: Promote health department programs, participate in case management to ensure access and encourage preventative health screenings of Utah children enrolled in Medicaid programs, and contact local providers to promote participation and provide information on how they can enroll as Medicaid providers.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or GED.
• Must possess a valid Utah driver’s license.

Skills

• Computer skills (Google Drive, Microsoft Suite, etc.).
• Ability to multitask.
• Good customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Spanish-speaking strongly preferred.

Work Environment

May be required to stay at or return to work during public health incidents and/or emergencies to perform duties specific to this classification or other assigned duties. This may require working a non-traditional work schedule or outside normally assigned duties during the incident and/or emergency.
