Clinical Care Manager

About the Role

The Drexel University Counseling Center seeks a year-round, full-time Clinical Care Manager to support students needing longer-term or specialized treatment. Responsibilities include coaching and skills-based training, campus and community referral follow-up, collaboration with campus partners providing case management, and active engagement with community mental health providers and agencies offering free or low-cost treatment. This role ensures consistent follow-up to meet students' off-campus care needs.

Responsibilities

• Provides case management for students requesting or recommended for a transfer of care out of DUCC services.
• Serves as a bridge to appropriate community resources, facilitating access, communication, and monitoring service quality.
• Assists with coordination of hospitalization and discharge planning, advocating for students to access care.
• Tracks students referred to the community and communicates about continuity of care.
• Consults with parents, faculty, and staff to ensure quality care for students.
• Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of community providers and agencies to expand and sustain mental health referral networks.
• Assists in improving internal and external referral processes.
• Compiles, maintains, and updates referral resource information, including database management.
• Provides follow-up contact for clients engaged in treatment with community medical providers.
• Maintains timely records of client status in accordance with Counseling Center policies.
• Provides ‘bridge’ services as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Master's Degree in Social Work (LSW), Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mental health counseling, case management, or care coordination, preferably in a higher education setting.
• Experience working with multicultural and marginalized identities.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to work independently, establish relationships, and function within a team.
• Ability to effectively manage students with significant mental health needs.

University City - Philadelphia, PA

Pay

This position is classified as Exempt, grade K, with a salary range of $60,240 - $90,350 per year. The offered rate will vary based on qualifications, experience, department budget, and internal equity review.
