Responsibilities

  • Assures the use of available technology using the internet, electronic documentation and electronic communication
  • Participate in systematic program evaluation procedures to assure program standards align with best-practice procedures; continue evaluating ways to reduce restraints across all programming
  • Affirmative administrative decision-making regarding the development of new and revision of old program policies and procedures
  • Provide consultation and supervision around implementation of initiatives relating to clinical services of the organization
  • Review and utilize data gathered from the various Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives
  • Review weekly restraint data with leadership team
  • Review and monitor recommendations from internal “task force” restraint reduction team
  • Provide oversight to the PHP and coordination with Outpatient programming and the facilitation of therapeutic groups for the program
  • Provide clinical consultation and supervision, through consistent observation, to classroom teams/partial staff (including coordinators) about promoting positive youth behavior and development
  • Establish and maintain communication with all participating agencies
  • Disseminate research and program innovations through conference presentations and written reports/manuscripts
  • Complete all required paperwork; use professional language
  • Use written documentation to communicate effectively with others
  • Understand the intake process and referral system to meet the weekly budgeted census
  • Receive supervision
  • Supervise staff directly or their supervisors depending upon the personnel actions including action plans, hiring, terminations, recruitment, vacation and sick day requests
  • Ensure that program staffing is qualified and provides continued safety of children served with high rates of success/program completion
  • Provide service to the professional community by serving on boards and committees which aim to promote positive youth development
  • Participate in program development of a culturally sensitive model of delivery of services to students and families
  • Provide consultation and act as a resource to coordinators and staff to enhance clinical competence
  • Aid leadership in teaching Re-ED practice
  • Aid leadership in reducing program restraints
  • Provide regularly scheduled training activities for staff to assure competency and understanding of trauma-informed care
  • Represent program at Clinical Supervisor’s Meetings
  • Assure clinical competency of staff and coordinators by providing clinical supervision regularly
  • Complete record reviews of youth served on a regular basis to assure treatment needs of children are addressed
  • Identify clinical training needs and provide necessary training to remediate needs
  • Review clinical/behavioral health documentation for purpose of providing clinical supervision to staff
  • Provide professional development and training to staff related to clinical services, student behavioral support systems, clinical/behavioral interventions, clinical/behavioral assessment/support planning, and other evidence-based procedures
  • Interviewing applicants and sharing interview data
  • Maintain comprehensive records of staff performance
  • Conduct formal, verbal and written evaluations of each staff member at 6 months of service and annually (written evaluation reports will be reviewed and signed by the director)
  • Develop and maintain training curriculums and consultation services for program staff members in program and students’ behavior/mental health support
  • Update and complete all information and monitoring forms for Chapter I, Partial Hospital, and other funding and regulatory agencies
  • Follow program-designated procedures for all physical contact with students during physical interventions, student search, and so on and ensure that staff do the same
