Clinical Associate - Roanoke Memorial Hospital Emergency Room - FT

Here is an opportunity to thrive and bring your valuable skills to life within a setting known for providing the best quality care to patients. As a clinical associate, you will provide basic clinical services to patients and clerical support to the unit health-care team.
Successful candidate MUST BE able to attend required orientation classes during day time hours, Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm for the first 2 weeks. These classes are mandatory! At least two classes are being conducted online, but the rest of them will require you to attend classes in person in Roanoke, VA.
Responsibilities
- Welcomes and assists patients and visitors with registration.
- May assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Coordinates patient flow into/out of area using department/unit specific software and Intranet.
- Schedules patient therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
- May review medical records for outstanding orders and notifies nurse of stat orders and medication changes.
- Cleans unit-based equipment and gathers supplies needed to operate equipment between patients as needed.
- Transports patients, supplies specimens and equipment within the facility.
- May assist with chart audits.
- May perform unit-based patient care tasks for patients.
- May participate in the sitter process.
- Interacts with patients, visitors, physicians, and other health professionals.
- Answers incoming calls via telephone and patient call system. Routes calls as needed and takes messages.
- Provides scheduling coverage support for department/unit staff scheduling, including back up coverage.
- Operates and maintains general office equipment.
- Orders department/unit supplies and equipment and stocks/organizes supplies.
- Serves as a resource for department/unit software system.
- Monitors cleanliness of waiting and break rooms and performs safety/environmental rounds.
- Assists with maintaining regulatory compliance in unit.
Requirements
- Education: High school graduate or GED.
- Experience: none
- Licensure, certification, and/or registration: none unless the following: Critical Access Area - Certified Nursing Assistant is required.
- Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required.
- Effective interpersonal, communication, and team-working skills.
- Must be organized and self-motivated.
- Must have knowledge of office procedure and equipment.
Pay
Compensation Range: $18.70 - $26.18 per hour. Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience.
