About the role

The Nursing Assistant will provide basic care activities and provide for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will assist with the delivery of patient care, performing technical, therapeutic, administrative tasks, and procedures for which you have been trained. The Nursing Assistant must demonstrate the ability and willingness to participate in a patient care team as a multi-skilled caregiver, responsible for the quality of their own work and remain flexible in response to change.

Responsibilities

  • Take vital signs, height, weight, and oxygen saturation
  • Report all unusual observations to the nurse
  • Collect various specimens for analysis
  • Record and measure intake and output
  • Provide patients with personal care and assist with daily activities
  • Perform basic clinical procedures independently or under the supervision of the RN
  • Provide nutritional needs, including assisting and ordering room service, setting up meal trays, and feeding

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic four-function math
  • Desire to help people and/or aspirations of becoming a healthcare professional
  • Basic computer skills (preferred)
  • Medical terminology (preferred)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
  • CNA Certification preferred but not required upon hire

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $26.24 per hour. Actual compensation is determined based on factors such as seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other applicable factors permissible by law.

As a health care organization, we require all staff to be vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment.
