Clinical Assistant Professor, Safety and Construction Sciences
The Keene State College invites applications for an Assistant Clinical Professor faculty position in the Safety and Construction Sciences Department, starting August 2026.
About the Role
This is a full-time, in-person position that involves teaching undergraduate and potentially graduate courses in various formats, including classroom, laboratory, and partially online. Key responsibilities include curriculum development, laboratory management, student advisement, and contributing to service activities for the program, department, and college.
Responsibilities
- Create an inclusive, student-centered learning environment
- Integrate real-world applications into teaching
- Contribute to curriculum development reflecting evolving industry practices
- Teach undergraduate and potentially graduate courses in various formats
- Develop and manage laboratory activities
- Mentor and advise students
- Engage in college service activities
- Maintain professional development and participate in service activities
- Commit to teaching and mentoring a diverse student body, including first-generation college students
- Promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and civic engagement
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a closely related field
- A minimum of 1 year of collegiate teaching experience OR 5 years of training experience
- A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Occupational Safety and Health, demonstrating hands-on expertise in applying occupational safety and health principles in real-world, non-academic environments
- BCSP CSP or CIH Designation or the ability to receive such a designation upon 1 year of hire
- Ability to provide evidence of Service work that aligns with SOHAS Department Guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Board-certified designations or professional engineer licensure
- Experience working in the construction industry
- Demonstrated knowledge in HOP, Safety II, and SIF Prevention, as well as Systems and Behavioral Sciences

Pay
The pay range for this position is $65,720. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
