Clinical Assistant Professor of Urology (Clinician Educator) CHLA

About the role

The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Surgery in the Division of Urology, are actively seeking a full-time faculty member for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Urology (Clinician Educator).

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with congenital and acquired pediatric urology disorders.
• Train urologic and pediatrics residents affiliated with this program and at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
• Participate in active research including stem cells, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, etiology of human cryptorchidism (undescended testicles), nanotechnology, and a variety of other clinical outcomes research.
• Provide comprehensive diagnosis and care for a multitude of genitourinary conditions including bladder exstrophy / and other complex conditions that require genitourinary reconstruction, fetal urology, oncology, nephrolithiasis, spina bifida / neurogenic bladder, and voiding dysfunction.
• Work within the Division of Urology, which is ranked among the top hospitals in the nation for Urology care on the U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals List.
• Develop an Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Blockchain research core.

Requirements

• Must hold an MD degree
• Must be Fellowship Trained from Accredited Pediatric Urology Program
• Board certified / eligible in Urology
• Board certified / eligible in Pediatric Urology

• Strength in teaching
• Experience in patient-oriented basic research
• Strong oral and written communication / interpersonal skills
• Ability to work comfortably in a high-intensity clinical and academic environment

Pay

The annual base salary range for this position is $400,000-$770,000.
