Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine (Clinician Educator) Hospitalist Scholar Program

About the role

The Division of Hospital and Palliative Medicine (HPM) at the Keck School of Medicine of USC is seeking an exceptional Internist to join their team as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in the one-year Hospitalist Scholar Program.

Responsibilities

• A reduced, hybrid schedule of days and nights, with a mix of Teaching Teams at both Keck Medical Center and USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center.
• Weeks on Team D, which has a lower patient volume.
• Inpatient clinical and teaching responsibilities.
• Participation in a 12-month mentorship program designed to provide tools for success as a Hospitalist, while also allowing dedicated time for scholarly work.

Requirements

• Passion for teaching learners at various levels.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for working in a collegial team-based environment.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine.
• Holds a current CA State Medical License.
• Holds a full schedule, fee paid DEA License with a CA address at the time of credentialing.

Benefits

• Salary of $230,000.
• Reimbursement for one-year Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) membership and attendance at the annual SHM Converge conference.

Pay

This one-year fixed term position begins on July 1 and ends June 30 of the following year.
