Hospitalist Scholars – Subspecialty Track, Instructor position
Description
The Division of Hospital Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Instructor positions in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years).
Requirements
- M.D. or equivalent degree
- Board certified/board eligible in General Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Responsibilities
- Nights and weekends at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center
- Limited weekend shifts at Good Shepherd Penn Partners Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH)

This Instructor position in Hospital Medicine is a part of a unique career development program known as the Penn Hospitalist Subspecialty Scholars Program. This program is designed specifically for recent graduates of internal medicine residencies seeking a short-term (1-3 years) hospitalist position before moving on to the next phase of their career – typically a sub-specialty fellowship or secondary residency.
