Clinical Assistant Professor-Nursing Leadership

About the role

The School of Nursing, within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, is seeking a clinical assistant/associate professor whose teaching and scholarship is focused on Nursing Leadership. The primary purpose of this role is to provide student-centered teaching and clinical instruction of undergraduate and graduate-level courses. Faculty in this role will provide student advising, student mentoring and recruitment, curriculum development, and engagement in program assessment accreditation-related procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Incorporate modern pedagogical skills in teaching nursing courses to undergraduate and graduate courses in nursing leadership.
  • Serve as a mentor and advisor to DNP students.
  • Engage in service to the School of Nursing, college, and university as well as to appropriate community and professional organizations.

Requirements

  • Holds a doctoral degree in nursing (DNP or PhD).
  • Demonstrates pedagogical skills to teach in areas relevant to nursing leadership.
  • Three years of clinical experience related to the concepts and theories essential in providing nursing care for Nursing Leadership.
  • Nurse Educator Certification.
  • Skills with Blackboard LMS, Banner INB, and Microsoft Office Support Software preferred.

  • Current unrestricted license as a registered nurse in North Carolina or eligibility to obtain a North Carolina Registered Nurse License.

Qualifications

  • Minimum requirements include a doctoral degree in nursing (DNP or PhD).
  • Preferred years of experience, skills, training, and education include prior teaching experience in baccalaureate and/or graduate nursing programs or credentials to meet the North Carolina Board of Nursing’s educational requirement.

  • Skills with Blackboard LMS, Banner INB, and Microsoft Office Support Software preferred.
