Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor, Division of Prosthodontics

This full-time clinical faculty position is located in the Division of Prosthodontics. The role involves providing clinical supervision in predoctoral or advanced prosthodontic clinics and participating in preclinical instruction. One day a week of intra or extra-mural faculty practice is allowed with approval.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will demonstrate passion, clinical expertise, a positive attitude, and a collaborative team approach while supporting learners in a high-quality, evidence-based, comprehensive dental environment. This position requires a record of teaching and experience in curriculum development, including delivering effective lectures, seminars, simulations, workshops, labs, clinical and computer-based instruction, teaching preparation, standardization, and student advising and mentorship. The faculty member is expected to engage in continuing education, educational methodology programs, professional organizations, peer collaborations, and faculty mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Teaching and mentoring students in the predoctoral clinic, preclinic, and advanced education clinic
• Directing courses, providing lectures, or leading seminars for the predoctoral and advanced education programs
• Participating in faculty, resident, and student research projects conducted by the Division of Prosthodontics
• Contributing to continuing education programs provided by the Division of Prosthodontics
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Division Director

Requirements

• DDS/DMD degree or recognized international equivalent
• Current Minnesota Dental License or ability to obtain one before the start date (a faculty license may be sponsored by the School of Dentistry if needed)
• Completion of a CODA-accredited Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics by the start of the position
• Completion of an advanced degree (Master of Science or PhD), publications, or research experience
• Experience successfully working with a diverse patient base
• Theoretical knowledge and clinical experience in Prosthodontics and digital dentistry

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated history of quality clinical and didactic teaching in prosthodontics
• Willingness to partner with peers and commitment to maintaining a strong collaborative and team approach in Prosthodontics
• Certification by the American Board of Prosthodontics

Visa sponsorship, including H-1B, may be considered for qualified candidates whose visa circumstances do not require payment of the $100,000 H-1B fee.

Pay

$130,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on education, qualifications, and experience.
