About the role
Works under the supervision of RNs and LPNs to provide assistive care and communication for patients, team members, professional, and technical staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistive care and communication for patients, team members, professional, and technical staff, and visitors.
Requirements
- Six months of patient care experience within the last two years.
- Enrolled in a medical related college program and in clinical rotation.
- CNA, CMA, PCT or EMT certification.
Qualifications
- Basic Life Support.
- High School Diploma Graduate or Equivalent.
- 1 Year job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Patient Care Support or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
- Certified Nursing Assistant.
- Certified Medical Assistant.
- AAMA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.
- Certified Medical Assistant.
- Certified Patient Care Technician.
- Certified Emergency Medical Technician.
- ADPH.

Other Information
CVICU is a 20-bed unit with 4 dedicated ECMO suites. It provides state of the art care for neonatal and pediatric patients with acquired or congenital heart disease that require intensive care management or close monitoring for conditions such as: co-morbidities of congenital or acquired heart disease; pre and/or post-operative cardiac surgery patients; dysrhythmias; cardiomyopathy; pre and post-operative care of cardiac transplants; and patients requiring Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD) or Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO).
