About the role
The Department of Graphic Communications in the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University is seeking a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-track Clinical Assistant up to Clinical Associate Professor starting August 15, 2026. The position is term-limited and renewable annually based on performance and funding. Summer teaching, professional engagement, or other compensated activities may be available depending on departmental needs and university policies.
Responsibilities
- Teach in-person undergraduate courses each semester (fall and spring).
- Teach courses emphasizing experiential learning and hands-on projects, potentially including industry partners.
- Contribute to the Graphic Communications curriculum and support applied interdisciplinary instruction.
- Evolving the curriculum in response to emerging industry practices and technologies.
- Service to the department, the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business, and Clemson University.
- Engage with the industry through professional participation, trade publications, or conference presentations.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Graphic Communications or a closely related field, or at least 10 years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Demonstrated teaching ability and active industry relationships.
Qualifications
- Expertise connecting communication, graphics, or design to real-world production and workflow environments.
- Experience applying computing, data, or intelligent systems to real-world production or packaging environments.
- Ability to bridge creative intent with executable output, translating design concepts into deployable assets for print, packaging, retail, and cross-media applications.
Skills
- Knowledge of advanced print and packaging workflows.
- Experience with AI-assisted production systems and agentic tools.
- Understanding of technologies supporting branded communication across physical and digital media.
- Workflow automation and production technologies.
