Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor

About the role

The faculty member will provide patient-centered, evidence-based clinical pharmacy services at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV. The focus of care is adult internal medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical rounding with the Marshall Internal Medicine (MUIM) teaching team
• Engage in patient education
• Perform therapeutic drug monitoring
• Offer educational in-services
• Conduct medication therapy consults
• Participate in quality assurance activities such as MUE, clinical pharmacist care impact, and fiscal impact analysis
• Teach within the Marshall University School of Pharmacy curriculum, including didactic, laboratory, case/simulation-based, and experiential teaching (IPPE and APPE)
• Engage in scholarship and service commensurate with this position
• Support PGY-1 pharmacy residents at St. Mary’s Medical Center
• Participate in school and university committees and scholarly research in their area of expertise

Qualifications

PharmD degree from an ACPE accredited college or university

Current license to practice pharmacy in West Virginia

Experience in adult internal medicine pharmacy

Ability to teach and mentor pharmacy students

Strong commitment to scholarship and service
