About the role
Position is non-tenure track, full-time 12 month appointment. The faculty member will provide patient-centered, evidence-based clinical pharmacy services at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV, with a focus on adult internal medicine. Marshall University School of Pharmacy has partnered with St. Mary’s Medical Center to provide exceptional patient care and educational programs for Marshall University School of Pharmacy students, including the Scholars Program for pharmacy students in Infectious Diseases, Critical Care, and Emergency Medicine; this position provides the internal medicine learning experience for the Scholars.
Responsibilities
- Clinical rounding with the Marshall Internal Medicine (MUIM) teaching team
- Patient education
- Therapeutic drug monitoring
- Educational in-services
- Medication therapy consults
- Quality assurance activities (MUE, clinical pharmacist care impact, fiscal impact analysis, etc.)
- Teaching responsibilities including didactic, laboratory, case/simulation-based, and experiential teaching (IPPE and APPE) within the school of pharmacy curriculum
- Engage in scholarship and service commensurate with this position
- Participate in the education of PGY‑1 pharmacy residents at SMMC
- Complete school and university committee service
- Conduct scholarly research in their area of expertise
