Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor (12 month)
Job Summary
The College of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor (12 Months).
Reporting to the Executive Vice Dean, the successful candidate will:
- Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through expert teaching.
- Absorb responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments.
- Use innovative, active learning strategies in the classroom and beyond.
- Plan clinical and simulation experiences for and provides direct supervision and evaluation of students delivering nursing care, as needed.
- Serve as Academic Advisor for students.
- Evaluate and provide documented feedback on student's performance.
- Grade homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork and other written work in a timely manner.
- Be available for remediation of students as required or needed.
- Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies and procedures.
- Direct research of students working for advanced academic degrees.
- Mentor students in evidence-based research and scholarship.
- Conduct research and publishes findings in professional journals.
- Develop a program of research.
