About the role

The Department of Medicine at the University of Southern California’s (USC) Keck School of Medicine is seeking a Clinical Administrator to manage the General Internal Medicine and Allergy-Immunology Division. This is a new position for a rapidly growing division within the Department of Medicine, focusing on providing primary internal medicine and allergy care throughout the Keck Medicine network.

Under the direction of the division chief, this position is responsible for managing and overseeing clinical, administrative, financial, educational, and research operations for a large and dynamic division with multiple on- and off-campus practice locations. The division plays a significant role in both the Los Angeles County Medical Center (LAGMC) residency program and the new Keck School of Medicine residency program.

The General Internal Medicine & Allergy-Immunology Division includes about 40 clinical faculty members involved in patient care at Keck Health Sciences Campus clinics, LAGMC, and locations in Arcadia, Pasadena, UPC, DTLA, La Canada, Beverly Hills, and Verdugo Hills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee clinical, administrative, financial, educational, and research operations for the division.
  • Hire, train, and supervise administrative staff positions within the division.
  • Provide administrative oversight for programmatic, educational, and research staff.
  • Oversee and manage approximately $10M in annual revenue.
  • Serve as the point person for the division and a representative for the department, requiring excellence in communication and professionalism.
  • Engage in proactive planning, collaboration, and professional partnering with other departments, hospital and Keck School of Medicine leadership, and various business units and partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or combined experience/education as a substitute for minimum education.
  • 3 years of experience in a relevant role.
  • Management experience in a multi-faceted or specialized medical environment.
  • Knowledge of financial accounting and/or financial management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.
  • 4+ years of experience in academic healthcare administration.
  • Management of large, multi-faceted, or specialized medical school environments with thorough knowledge of medical practice plan administration and financial accounting.

Skills

  • Clinical operations and revenue cycle management.
  • Ability to manage and support individuals with varying skill sets.
  • Strong understanding of the academic medical center infrastructure and operational processes.
  • Excellent communication and professionalism.

Pay

The annual budgeted salary range for this position is $104,973.74 - $125,000.

Schedule

This position is Exempt and Hybrid-Flex.
