About the role

This field-based position covers Cleveland, Akron, Toledo, Lorain, Canton, and surrounding areas. Candidates should live within a reasonable distance of the primary city. Reporting to the District Manager, the Clinical Account Executive will build and implement territory business plans aligned with brand objectives and business goals. The role requires deep disease state knowledge, strong professional relationships with oncologists (private, group practice, and hospital settings), nursing and office staff, and all stakeholders in the oncology patient care continuum. The individual will foster collaboration with peers and the extended team network to drive results aligned with brand expectations and AbbVie’s mission.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed assigned sales goals.
  • Present approved disease state and product information to customers using persuasive selling skills, adhering to AbbVie Promotional Policy.
  • Leverage sales analytics and customer intelligence to create high-impact, strategic plans aligned with brand objectives.
  • Execute sales and marketing strategies within the territory, utilizing cross-functional partners and approved resources.
  • Continuously build knowledge of the evolving marketplace, territory changes, disease state, and product expertise.
  • Collaborate effectively with all territory partners and external counterparts.
  • Develop and execute a call plan achieving set call metrics to optimize coverage and frequency for key customers.
  • Comply with all laws, regulations, and policies governing AbbVie’s activities.
  • Build a comprehensive strategic business plan with measurable objectives and action-oriented strategies in line with regional and national goals, including responsible resource allocation and adherence to ethical standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of Oncology sales experience, including solid tumors, preferred.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales expectations.
  • Exceptional communication and consultative selling skills to address customer needs.
  • Competitive selling skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must pass AbbVie’s background check and additional screenings required by institutions (e.g., immunizations, TB, HIV, hepatitis, drug screening).
  • Regular business travel by air or car is required.
  • Must be able to drive a personal auto, company vehicle, or powered material handling equipment.
