What You'll Do
- Drive New Business Growth
- Develop and execute a strategic territory business plan focused on acquiring new hospital and health system customers.
- Identify, engage, and close opportunities that result in long-term supply agreements and sustained platform utilization.
- Consistently achieve or exceed quarterly and annual revenue, account acquisition, and activity objectives.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities across all stages of the sales process.
- Lead Complex Hospital Sales Cycles
- Navigate complex healthcare purchasing environments involving physicians, laboratory leadership, pharmacy, nursing, supply chain, finance, and value analysis committees.
- Develop account-specific strategies that address clinical, operational, financial, and implementation considerations.
- Lead contract discussions and coordinate internal resources to successfully advance opportunities to close.
- Effectively manage competitive positioning and overcome barriers to adoption.
- Establish Clinical and Executive Relationships
- Develop trusted relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), physician champions, and executive stakeholders within Neurology and Interventional Cardiology service lines.
- Cultivate relationships with laboratory directors, pharmacists, administrators, and other institutional decision-makers who influence testing adoption.
- Serve as a strategic partner to customers throughout the evaluation, implementation, and expansion process.
- Deliver Clinical Value
- Present scientific, clinical, operational, and economic evidence to diverse healthcare audiences.
- Conduct educational programs, product demonstrations, and executive-level presentations that communicate the value of pharmacogenomic testing.
- Confidently address clinical and technical questions from physicians, laboratorians, pharmacists, and healthcare executives.
- Stay current on the clinical landscape, customer needs, and evolving institutional requirements affecting CYP2C19 testing.
- Manage Territory Performance
- Maintain accurate forecasting, opportunity tracking, and customer engagement records within CRM.
- Utilize data-driven account planning to prioritize high-value opportunities and maximize territory performance.
- Collaborate effectively with Marketing, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership teams to support customer acquisition and growth.
- Maintain a high-quality activity cadence — including in-person hospital visits, virtual meetings, and substantive phone calls with emphasis on advancing accounts through the sales process to close.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 8+ years of successful healthcare, diagnostic, medical device, laboratory, or life sciences sales experience.
- Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding quota in complex B2B healthcare sales environments.
- Proven success selling into hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, or integrated delivery networks.
- Experience managing long sales cycles involving multiple clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen, negotiation skills, and strategic account management capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver scientifically rigorous sales presentations and engage sophisticated clinical and executive audiences.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the Northeast territory, including overnight travel as needed.
