Catholic Community Services, Family Behavioral Health is seeking a Clinical Access Specialist to join our team. Responsibilities
- Determine eligibility and facilitate access to behavioral health services using clinical and diagnostic assessment tools.
- Complete initial clinical assessment tools like the CANS Assessment and verify Medicaid eligibility.
- Coordinate referrals with identified clinical managers/supervisors and obtain pre-authorization for services meeting criteria.
- Manage access to services by representing Family Behavioral Health Services in the community, developing relationships with funders, and maintaining ongoing clinical contact with eligible children and youth.
- Track referrals, utilization, and response timeframes, entering data into an Electronic Health Record as appropriate.
- Participate in audit preparation and review of clinical records to ensure compliance with Medicaid standards.
- Utilize flexible scheduling to meet family and community needs, including evenings and weekends.
- Support and facilitate referral access in the community, ensuring clients are linked to necessary resources.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field.
- At least 2 years of clinical experience working with children and families, including knowledge of behavioral health and child welfare systems.
- Familiarity with DSM diagnostic criteria and clinical engagement skills such as Motivational Interviewing or Collaborative Problem Solving.
- Eligibility for Agency Affiliated License and application within one month of employment.
- Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, and Behavioral Health EHR systems.
- Certification and competency in clinical assessment processes, including CANS-Child/Adolescent Needs/Strengths Assessment.
- Energetic, innovative style with the ability to engage children and families in services.
- Natural ability to work with others through a strengths-based approach, prioritizing tasks and handling competing demands.
