About the role
The Registered Nurse provides therapeutic care to patients following the nursing process. Responsibilities include assessing patients, diagnosing issues, developing plans of care, administering medications, providing education, managing transfers, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Fulfills policies and procedures.
- Accesses online manuals.
- Completes nursing assessments upon admission and at each shift.
- Develops and revises plans of care based on patient outcomes.
- Administers medications and IV therapy.
- Delegates tasks based on others' scopes of practice.
- Manages restraint use and ensures MD orders are completed.
- Documents patient care accurately and timely.
- Provides patient/family education.
- Collaborates on discharge planning and ensures transfer paperwork.
- Maintains patient care equipment safely and appropriately.
- Communicates effectively with all healthcare team members.
- Observes regulatory agency requirements.
- Manages patients undergoing dialysis treatments.
- Engages psychiatric patients in therapeutic interactions.
- Monitors and assesses for patient safety.
- Applies de-escalation techniques and applies behavioral restraint when necessary.
- Completes debriefings after behavioral restraint incidents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
- One year acute inpatient hospital experience as RN.
- Excellent communication skills, including speaking, reading, and writing English proficiently.
- Knowledge of medical procedures and conditions.
- Committed to excellence in patient care and customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license from CA Board of Registered Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from American Heart Association.
- Fire Life Safety Training certification from LA City.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider certification from American Heart Association.
Skills
