Responsibilities
- Obtain information to assist provider and referral specialist with patient referrals; complete appropriate forms or requisitions required for referrals or lab testing.
- Accurately and promptly implement physicians’ orders.
- Function as a clinician, educator, and resource for patients within their specialty of care and assist providers with office procedures.
- Draw and collect blood and other samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Conduct pulmonary function testing, drug testing, vision testing, hearing testing, immunization delivery and spirometry testing.
- Practice reflects knowledge of CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, DOT and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding occupational medicine and healthcare.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee medical records on computer and written as needed.
- Provide appropriate and timely documentation in the patient’s electronic health record using standardized workflows and processes.
- Telephone triage by providing and documenting advice for home care of illness/condition; conducting follow-up phone calls regarding patient’s health and progress as necessary.
- Collaborate with team to ensure adherence to multiple client protocols and services.
- Develop and Patient Education
- Be aware of what is happening in clinic/department and the organization by attending clinic/department meetings, reading emails and regularly checking information on the organization’s intranet site.
- Demonstrate initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations.
- Act as a consultant both within the organization and to outside agencies or groups.
- Perform other duties as requested by leader to facilitate the smooth and effective operations of the office.
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited nursing program for Registered Nurses.
- License(s)/Certification(s): Registered Nurse (RN) with valid license(s) in state practicing in good standing. Current CPR Certification. Certification in Hearing conservation (CAOHC) or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire. NIOSH approved spirometry training or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- If performing client-based services, Chauffer’s license required, which can be obtained within 6 months of hire, and must meet eligibility requirements of fleet policy.
