Clinic Registered Nurse (RN)- School Based Health Center (SBHC)
About the role
The Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) at the Hood River Valley School-Based Health Center (SBHC) provides high-quality, patient-centered care to students by utilizing the nursing process as the foundation of clinical practice. This role requires clinical excellence, critical thinking, and independent decision-making while collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team to ensure students' health concerns are appropriately assessed, addressed, and triaged to the appropriate level of care.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to ensure students' health concerns are appropriately addressed.
- Provide clinical excellence, critical thinking, and independent decision-making in patient care.
- Work independently and demonstrate self-directed decision-making.
- Manage difficult interactions and promote positive resolutions.
- Use electronic health records (EHRs), preferably Epic.
- Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
Requirements
- Current unrestricted Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
- Ability to obtain Washington RN License within 3 months of start date.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience using electronic health records (EHRs), preferably Epic.
- Proficiency with standard computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheets.
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Pediatric nursing experience preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) preferred.
Skills
- Effective communication skills.

- Knowledge of pediatric care.
- Basic life support certification.

Pay
Hourly / Non-Exempt: $38.00–$40.75 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule
This position is primarily located at School Based Clinic Hood River Valley High School, coverage required on Monday & Thursday from 8:00am-5:00pm. Both part-time and full-time opportunities are available with additional clinical coverage at other OCH clinic locations.
