Clinic Receptionist

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Clinic Receptionist who will report to our Revenue Cycle and Billing Manager and help keep our clinic running smoothly. This person will be front-facing, answering phones and fielding questions from patients, while also providing concierge-level care through back-office duties and special projects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality remote support via chat, phone, and email, serving as one of the first responders to inbound questions or requests, ensuring priority items receive proper responses.
• Answer the main clinic phone, fielding questions from patients and insurance companies.
• Prepare patient charts and confirm insurance eligibility ahead of appointments.
• Assist in research and completion of patient referral requests.
• Answer questions or concerns about referrals with patients via Intercom.
• Update patient records in Athena.
• Collect patient payments over the phone when required.
• Reschedule patients when a provider calls in sick or reschedules.
• Work through the list of patients who did not schedule a follow-up (tickler list) to identify obstacles.
• Run clinic reports for the practice manager for weekly and monthly meetings.
• Troubleshoot and handle issues within Athena, Aircall, or Intercom for the care coordinator team.
• Assist in special projects as needed.
• Provide quality customer service while following HIPAA rules and regulations.

Requirements

• Experience with multitasking and reprioritizing tasks as needed.
• 4+ years of experience in customer service and answering phones.
• Preferred experience with Athena, Intercom, and Google Suite.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or clinical experience in healthcare.
• Self-starter with exceptional attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills, and a track record of executing cross-functional projects.

Pay

$18–20/hour.
