Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and outstanding customer service skills.
- Performs patient check-in at the time of the visit, interviews patients and completes all paperwork necessary to ensure the admitting process is efficient and all clinic and regulatory policies are in compliance.
- Copies/scan patient medical records, benefits/insurance information, and related hardcopy materials (e.g. ID, referrals, insurance cards, etc.) into the correct location in the electronic medical record system.
- Collections patient responsibility payments and answers routine patient insurance and billing inquiries.
- Answers phone calls, schedules appointments, ensures insurance coverage, and alerts patients as to what documentation is needed, including details associated with time-of-service payment schedules.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
- Preferred: Experience with Meditech, Allscripts, Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
Qualifications
CHI Oakes Hospital, a 20-bed critical access hospital, provides various inpatient and outpatient services to approximately 14,000 people in southeastern North Dakota. It is also a 24-Hour Emergency Level V Trauma Center. The hospital building was newly-constructed in 2007, replacing a 50-year old building, and in 2010, Oakes Community Clinic was opened within the hospital building. The hospital is part of a larger values-based organization, CommonSpirit Health.
