About the role
As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions. Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and their abilities to participate in ordered procedures
- Provide a clear explanation of the procedure including duration, process, and what to expect following completion
- Provide patient education as appropriate
- Obtain patient consent for care and ensure patient confidentiality
- Select proper equipment, setting correct technical factors, procedure protocols and gather proper supplies prior to performance of the procedure
- Recognize all radiation safety standards including "Image Gently" and "Image Wisely"
- Understand and follow all rules around radiation protection including wearing of lead protection when there is a possibility of exposure
- Obtain clear and complete history from the patient and/or patient record and record that data into patient record to assist in image interpretation and future patient encounters
- Perform quality assessment of images obtained and evaluate equipment issues, escalating concerns as indicated
Qualifications
- Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program
- Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT (upon hire)
- Basic Life Support - CPR (upon hire)
- Medical Radiographer: NE (upon hire)
Schedule
- Urgent Care: 1 weekend shift of 10-2pm in addition to completing remaining hours between 10am-8pm
Pay
$24.27 - $36.10 /hour
