Job Summary

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions. Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Affirms patients and their abilities to participate in ordered procedures. Provides a clear explanation of the procedure including; duration, process, and what to expect following completion.
  • Provides patient education as appropriate.
  • Obtains patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality.
  • Selects proper equipment, sets correct technical factors, procedure protocols, and gathers proper supplies prior to performance of the procedure. Recognizes all radiation safety standards including “Image Gently” and “Image Wisely”. Understands and follows all rules around radiation protection including wearing of lead protection when there is a possibility of exposure.
  • Obtains clear and complete history from the patient and/or patient record and records that data into patient record to assist in image interpretation and future patient encounters.
  • Performs quality assessment of images obtained and is able to evaluate equipment issues and escalates concerns as indicated.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program, upon hire
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Medical Radiographer: NE, upon hire

Qualifications

  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from a recognized organization such as American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) from a recognized organization such as American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Current certification in Medical Radiography from a recognized organization such as American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current certification in Medical Radiographer: NE from a recognized organization.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of diagnostic imaging principles and techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety regulations and practices.

Pay

The posted compensation range of $24.27 - $36.10 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
