About the role

The ExpressCare Clinic/Practice Assistant position is a full-time, 40-hour per week role with a rotating schedule of 4 days on and 2 days off, including every other weekend from 8:00am-5:00pm.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients while delivering excellent customer service both in person and over the phone.
  • Schedule patient appointments, maintain appointment records, and support scheduling changes as needed.
  • Manage patient documentation, including scanning records, processing billing forms, and obtaining medical records or test results.
  • Respond to routine patient and provider inquiries, including messages related to prescription refills, prior authorizations, and test results.
  • Handle mail, faxes, forms, schedules, and other administrative tasks.
  • Support daily office operations by serving as a resource for scheduling, registration, and billing systems, including assisting with training and support for team members.
  • May perform more advanced administrative responsibilities based on department needs and level of competency.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Experience in office settings for 2-3 years required.
  • Proficiency with all Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of office operations and standards, and understanding of office procedures including filing, copying, scanning, printing, and faxing.
  • Ability to use phone system and manage non-routine phone calls and solve routine issues as appropriate.
  • Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience and talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents, to correspond and communicate with others clearly and effectively (including composing/editing e-mails, memos, and letters).
  • Managing one's own time and the time of others.
  • Well organized and good time management skills to manage multiple tasks effectively, follow established protocols, and work within systems.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Administrative Assistant [CMAA] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred.
