About the role
MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is an entity within the Medical University of South Carolina that provides healthcare to patients within the rural health network throughout the state of South Carolina. Provides direct line management and leadership for all patient care areas and ensures proper standards are followed for nursing practice. Provides interface between the support services and clinical services.
Responsibilities
- First level management; typically supervises one or more areas of a department.
- Supervises two or more professional and/or support staff and their day-to-day activities.
- Coordinates business aspects of a department, including strategy, project management, budget planning and oversight, and financial operations.
- Facilitates care delivery system development and operation, including staffing and professional delivery of services.
- Manages daily operations of clinical and clerical employees, including staffing schedules, while maintaining an efficient and professional work atmosphere.
- Develops and sets goals at the process, job, and interface level to ensure optimal patient care to meet overall organizational goals.
Requirements
- A high school diploma and three years of experience or training within a specific work area; or an Associate’s degree with one year of experience; or a Bachelor's degree and six months of experience.
- Experience in a medical capacity preferred.
