About the Role

Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with all aspects of patient visits, performing routine clinical tasks and facilitating communication between patients and providers.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients to obtain vitals, history of present illness (HPI), review patient history, and reconcile medication.
  • Prepare charts for physician or provider and document information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Ensure results are available from any testing performed since the last office visit.
  • Maintain sterilized and stocked exam rooms, labs, procedure rooms, and medical equipment.
  • Log and perform daily quality assurance procedures.
  • Ensure medical equipment is in good working order and report malfunctions to the Clinic Practice Manager.
  • Order testing, laboratory procedures, process referrals, communicate results to patients, and answer messages as directed by the physician or provider.
  • Order and document prescriptions (new and refills) according to physician or provider specifications.
  • Provide phlebotomy services, collect specimens, label, complete lab forms, and perform basic tests.
  • Assist with examinations, minor surgical, and special procedures.
  • Perform patient education.
  • Order medical supplies to maintain required levels and keep accurate, documented inventory.
  • Occasional travel to other offices for sufficient coverage.
  • Adapt assessment, treatment, and care methods to accommodate physical, cultural, age-specific, and developmental needs.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and use assistive devices for lifting.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education.
  • Implement DRH Standards of Behavior and exhibit behaviors consistent with DRH core values.
  • Comply with DRH policy regarding required vaccinations and respirator/fit testing.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a licensed practical nursing program.
  • One year of nursing experience in a healthcare clinic setting preferred.
  • Previous EMR experience preferred.
  • Current unencumbered LPN license in the State of Oklahoma or Multistate Licensure in a Party state.
  • For positions requiring travel, a current valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance must be maintained.

Skills

  • Fluency in oral and written English.
  • Basic computer skills, including email and EMR navigation.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to urgent situations.
  • Accuracy in executing physician or provider orders.
  • Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques.

Additional Information

This is a safety-sensitive position as defined by Oklahoma law. Applicants cannot test positive for THC in pre-employment or any subsequent drug tests, even with a valid medical marijuana card. Required vaccinations and respirator/fit testing are conditions of employment, with exemptions available upon request.
