Job Summary

The LPN provides direct nursing care, within the scope of their license, to patients as directed by the physicians and other healthcare providers. Cooperative decision making is expected in the execution of duties.

Qualifications

  • Accredited State Board of Nursing LPN Program Required
  • Minimum of 1 year clinical experience as an LPN Preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs
  • Licensed Practical Nurse - Oregon Required
  • Basic Life Support and May be required: Standard ENPC and May be required: Standard Advanced Cardiac Life Support and May be required: Standard Pediatric Advanced Life Support and May be required: Standard Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum
  • Basic computer skills required including familiarity with MS Office applications
  • Cool cooperative working and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of patients, families and staff
  • Well organized, detail oriented, flexible and able to function independently
  • Proficient with IV’s

Department / Location Specific Notes

OREGON: LPNs working in the state of Oregon will ONLY perform components that align with applicable state regulations within the LPN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Working Conditions: Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH); Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures; Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts); Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA); Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
