Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse*Full-time*

About the Role

Rivers Health is seeking a full-time LPN in our Women's Services Clinic. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.

Responsibilities

• Perform general nursing duties, including assessing patients’ general condition, taking vital signs, and recording patient history.
• Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
• Document all activities, interventions, and medications in the patient record.
• Obtain pre-certifications, pre-authorizations, and referrals from insurance companies.
• Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice, and instructions.
• Handle critical lab values and promptly seek physician orders.
• Schedule outside referrals and assist with medical procedures.
• Answer telephones, schedule patients for office visits and/or hospital tests, and send prescriptions to pharmacies.
• Call patients with test results and triage telephone patient care issues directly to clinic providers.
• Assist physicians in the treatment and care of patients in the office and maintain exam rooms and other patient areas.
• Ensure safety, infection control, and adherence to policies and procedures (Corporate, JCAHO, Rural Health, Departmental, and Personnel Employee Handbook).
• Perform routine office laboratory procedures and maintain equipment and supplies needed for patient care.
• Perform general receptionist duties, including answering phones, scheduling patients, preparing cash receipts, registering patients, and entering daily charges.
• Cover for co-workers during absences and complete a full range of duties in other nursing areas as needed.
• Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and foster an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration.
• Other duties as assigned.
