Clinic Lab Assistant Lake Mills FT Days

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify orders.
• Collect and process specimens, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to regulatory and infection control guidelines.
• Prepare, label, and process specimens.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab equipment.
• Perform and document quality control and proficiency testing.
• Verify lab orders and medical necessities.
• Complete ABNs and correct billing codes as needed.
• Enter and manage data in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Support cross-coverage needs throughout clinic/lab areas.
• Assist with clerical duties including faxing, copying, filing, scheduling, and answering phone calls.
• Provide patient-centered service by communicating test procedures, results, and follow-up instructions clearly and compassionately.
• Assist with various procedures, exams, and diagnostic equipment.
• Maintain aseptic techniques during preparation, procedures, and medication administration.
• Schedule work hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday.

Requirements

• Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
• Completion of medical terminology or phlebotomy training preferred.
• Previous laboratory or phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross required within 30 days of hire; must be maintained.
• Mandatory Reporter training for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse required within 3–6 months of hire; must be maintained.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows environment, web-based navigation, email, MS Office).
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
• Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
