About the role
The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at Oklahoma State University (OSU) invites applications for a full-time, career-track position in surgical fundamentals and community engagement.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic veterinarian with a solid foundation in small animal general surgery and a strong interest in clinical teaching.
Responsibilities
- Instruct third-year veterinary students in Junior Surgery
- Supervise fourth-year students in the Surgical Fundamentals rotation, focusing on spay/neuter procedures
- Teach third-year students in the Junior Surgery course
- Supervise fourth-year students in the Surgical Fundamentals rotation, focusing on spay/neuter procedures
- Provide hands-on, practical experience in small animal surgery
- If desired, contribute to didactic teaching, contributing to coursework in shelter medicine and surgical principles
- Engage with the OSU CVM Rural Outreach Initiative, potentially participating in mobile veterinary care
Requirements
- D.V.M. or comparable veterinary degree
- Minimum of one year experience in shelter medicine and surgery or general small animal surgery
- Licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice veterinary medicine in Oklahoma
- Certifications, registrations, and/or licenses as required
