Clin Supt Technician 5
Responsibilities
Oversees all aspect of staff training for assigned team(s).
Provides technical expertise and enhances the growth of the laboratory through areas of staff development and training personnel in day-to-day operations.
Schedules for section-specific assignment schedules and posts schedules in advance.
Maintains efficient operations to ensure prompt specimen handling and department turn-around times are met.
Monitors employee performance and holds staff accountable for accurate and timely completion of assigned activities.
Directs staff, as needed, to adjust job activities and work volume.
Mentors staff and participates in employee evaluations and staff competency.
Assists in the mediation or diffusion of any personnel conflicts.
Promotes a positive employee engagement environment.
Participates in regular feedback, communicating concerns, and supporting the implementation of improvement initiatives.
Oversees department specific functions to ensure operations are running optimally.
Coordinates and communicates information between designated shifts and with staff and area leadership.
Assists technologists in the pre-analytical processing of clinical trial study specimens.
Develops and maintains procedure manuals, check lists, training records/competency and job aides.
Monitors and ensures the department meets technical and regulatory compliance standards for New York State and any other regulatory agencies inspecting laboratory section.
Maintains professional discretion with confidential patient results.
Identifies and resolves problems.
Requirements
Associate's degree and 2 years of lab experience required or 3 years of Lab Science experience and technical training required.
Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience: Associate's degree and 2 years of lab experience required or 3 years of Lab Science experience and technical training required.
Skills
Excellent communication (i.e. verbal, written) and organizational skills, and effective interpersonal skills required.
Ability to prioritize and maintain focus while performing multiple tasks, as well as ability to function effectively in a rapidly changing environment and navigate frequent interruptions required.
Participation in continuing education required.
Ability to maintain professional discretion with confidential patient results required.
Ability to identify and resolve problems required.

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Pay
$23.52 - $32.92
Schedule
Monday-Friday 2:00PM-10:30PM. Working weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule
