Responsibilities
- Work in collaboration with others to schedule and track patient visits, tests, procedures, and follow-ups according to protocol; provide calendars and schedules to patients; obtain insurance authorization for tests/procedures; collaborate with team members to code and document toxicities and adverse events; report adverse events to appropriate University and external agencies; obtain, process, and ship specimens.
- Aid research personnel in keeping patients on study schedules.
Qualifications
- High school diploma and relevant experience/skills to perform assigned duties and responsibilities; excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills; excellent organizational skills; excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse team.
- Attention to details; proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Windows; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment; project management and coordination skills; ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines on concurrent projects.
- Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with patients, colleagues, and physicians.
- Demonstrated proficiency with medical terminology; experience working with patients or study subjects; ability to abstract data from medical records and transfer it to data collection forms or directly into databases.
About the Role
The Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (HDFCCC) Genitourinary Medical Oncology department has experienced significant growth in recent years and is seeking an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator to support the daily needs of clinical trials, primarily focusing on study data entry. Under the supervision of a Clinical Research Manager, the incumbent will perform entry-level duties related to the support and coordination of clinical studies, and may receive training and development to prepare and advance for journey-level work at the next level within the series.
