Provide district-wide behavioral consultation and direct support for ABA-based programs in public schools. Design and supervise the implementation of individualized, evidence-based behavioral and skill-building interventions to support students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, ADHD, or significant behavioral challenges. Collaborate with special educators, general educators, ed techs, school psychologists, and administrators to promote student success, build staff capacity, and ensure fidelity of ABA practices across the district.
Responsibilities
- Conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and creating data-driven Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs)
- Coaching and training teachers, Ed Techs, and support staff in ABA strategies
- Collaborating with IEP teams to develop behavior-related goals
- Providing consultation and support to general and special education classrooms
- Assisting with crisis plans, Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)/Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and staff professional development
Requirements
- Master's degree in ABA, Special Education, Psychology, or related field
- Current BCBA certification
- Experience with autism and behavioral supports in school settings
- Familiarity with Maine DOE Chapters 33 & 101 preferred
