Job Responsibilities
- Serve as a key subject matter expert on FATCA, CRS, Canadian, Chapter 3, and Chapter 61 withholding and reporting obligations as they apply to the Workplace Solutions business.
- Demonstrate strong end-to-end knowledge of the tax reporting lifecycle and operational process, including data sourcing, validation, controls, issue management, and filing deliverables (e.g., 1042-S/1042, 1099 series, FATCA/CRS reporting).
- Partner with the business to ensure reporting processes are executed accurately and on time.
- Advises on documentation requirements, withholding determinations, and reporting obligations.
- Lead and develop a high-performing tax compliance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
- Set clear performance expectations, provide ongoing coaching and mentorship, and support career development for team members at all levels.
- Support team capacity and prioritization across competing deliverables, escalating to senior management as appropriate.
- Support the identification, design, and implementation of process transformation initiatives across tax compliance workflows, with a focus on scalability, risk reduction, and efficiency.
- Partner with technology and operations teams to drive automation of manual processes, leveraging tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, and other workflow solutions.
- Maintain and enhance policies, procedures, and controls for continuous information reporting and withholding compliance across client onboarding, account opening, and servicing workflows.
- Track key performance indicators for the team, using data-driven insights to identify improvement opportunities and report progress to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field.
- 5+ years of tax experience, with a strong focus on US information reporting, withholding, FATCA, and CRSS.
- Strong technical knowledge of IRS requirements under Chapters 3, 4, and 61, with a particular focus on the year end reporting requirements.
- Experience leading or managing a team, with a track record of developing talent and contributing to team performance.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to process improvement or transformation initiatives, with measurable outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex tax concepts into clear guidance for non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.
