About the role
The Client Services Manager, Retirement Plan Services at Schwab is responsible for managing client relationships, collaborating with business partners, and ensuring client satisfaction. This role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 5+ years of experience with employer-sponsored retirement plans, and a thorough understanding of retirement plan industry trends and regulatory processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage client relationships to achieve high client satisfaction and great client promoter scores.
- Collaborate with business partners to deliver on client objectives, respond to client and partner requests, and manage client expectations.
- Utilize expertise to assist with calls, presentations, and face-to-face meetings to ensure client understanding of available solutions.
- Explore and discover client and consultant needs by asking open-ended questions to uncover new business opportunities and relationship challenges.
- Help clients navigate regulatory changes.
- Support Sales efforts, as needed.
- Understand and adhere to Schwab policies and practices, mitigating operational and financial risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience working with employer-sponsored retirement plans.
- A thorough understanding of retirement plan industry trends, ongoing regulatory and legislative processes impacting the client base, and ERISA-related regulations.
- Defined Benefit plan experience and designations/certifications (ASPPA, CEBS, NIPA, QPA, CPC).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to influence and build consensus among team members, leadership, and clients.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight by your manager.
- Highly responsive approach to client and consultant requests, excellent project management and time management skills, ability to handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to travel for client visits and sales presentations as needed.
