Client Services Manager
About the role
The Client Services Manager role is a relationship-driven, field-focused position that blends business development, client retention, and operational support in the disaster response and environmental restoration space. You will spend much of your time engaging government and commercial clients within an assigned region, strengthening pre-event contracts, understanding procurement processes, and positioning Ceres for future activations while maintaining strong awareness of competitors and market dynamics. During disaster events, this role becomes highly hands-on: supporting client communications, monitoring deployments, assisting Operations with compliance and reporting, and spending extended time in impacted areas as needed.
Responsibilities
- Participate as part of a team in the pursuit of federal, state, municipal, and commercial contracts within a specified region, market, or event.
- Participate in regional marketing, sales, and contract development in business development initiatives, especially building relationships with client organizations that have existing executed contracts with Ceres.
- Develop and maintain positive, ongoing relationships with targeted customers and strategic partners within a specified region, market, or event.
- Record and track all sales and customer-related activity within CRM.
- Attend trade shows, community events within the emergency response industry. Keeping an edge of competitive awareness.
- Meet with 100% of client group annually.
- Work with business project managers, estimators, and other staff as necessary to collect information on potential bid opportunities and qualifications for eligibility.
- Provide technical support to Operations during disaster activations.
- Maintain daily reports for compliance and support with corrective measures as needed.
- Deploy to activations within and outside of assigned region.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree related to engineering, business, government management or environmental work.
- 3+ years of experience with government procurement processes and contract vehicles, especially FEMA, USACE, and state agencies.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders, influencing outcomes without direct authority and managing competing priorities especially in fast-paced, event-driven environments.
- Clear, concise communicator with the ability to engage government officials, procurement leaders, and internal teams, and convey complex information effectively before, during, and after disaster events.
- Proven ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with public-sector and commercial clients, maintaining credibility and client confidence throughout the full lifecycle of engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of government relations experience including expertise in disaster response and disaster debris work.
- 8+ years of experience with government procurement processes and contract vehicles, especially FEMA, USACE, and state agencies.
- Successful work history with verifiable and quantifiable business successes.
- Proficient with contract management and business development strategies.
- Computer proficiency in MS Windows, Word, Excel, the internet, and email applications.
- Demonstrated ability to execute strategic plans with excellence.
- Demonstrated ability to work with government employees.
