Client Services Lead

About the Role

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a Client Services Lead for our Pacific Northwest Subregion. This strategic, outward-facing role focuses on establishing and strengthening client relationships, understanding the marketplace, driving business development strategy, and meeting sales goals. The Client Services Lead identifies and secures opportunities, participates in the full win-cycle (including go/no-go decisions and proposal strategy), and supports business development across SWCA’s service lines: natural resources, cultural resources, restoration, and planning and permitting. This position collaborates closely with Pacific Northwest leadership, technical leads, and project managers to align market strategies and connect clients with integrated solutions.

Strong preference will be given to candidates who currently reside in the Pacific Northwest subregion (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, or Montana) and understand local clients and business development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Establish and strengthen client relationships by proactively engaging with existing and potential clients and partners.
• Drive business development strategy by identifying market trends, targeting key opportunities, and setting strategic priorities.
• Hold self and others accountable for meeting sales targets and business development goals.
• Identify and secure opportunities to bid on projects by monitoring the marketplace and leveraging industry connections.
• Develop teaming relationships by initiating and nurturing partnerships with other firms and organizations.
• Coordinate internal staff and strategy meetings to align business development efforts and share market intelligence.
• Conduct external market research to inform business development decisions and anticipate client needs and industry shifts.
• Disseminate the SWCA brand by representing the company at industry events, conferences, and through targeted outreach efforts (~5-20% travel required).
• Perform internal mentorship by guiding junior staff in client services best practices and professional growth.
• Advance SWCA’s overall business development efforts by collaborating with technical and operations leaders to deliver integrated solutions.
• Follow applicable federal, Tribal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, and specifications.
• Drive compliance of safety policies and reporting requirements to ensure overall team safety.
• Perform related work as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least four years of relevant experience; six or more years preferred.
• Experience in managing staff.
• At least three years of project management experience.
• Prior experience with budget/proposal development, business development, and client relationship management.
• Must currently reside or plan to reside in the Pacific Northwest (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, or Montana).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet SWCA’s driver requirements.
• Willingness to participate in drug testing and alcohol screening as part of the pre-employment process.

Pay

An employee in this Pacific Northwest-based position can expect a salary of $98,017/year to $129,205/year. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements, and other factors permitted by law. Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
