Client Services Director, Alpha - $200,000/year USD
Alpha is a private K–12 school network where students complete academics in roughly two hours per day and dedicate the remainder to building practical skills. This on-site position manages the admissions process for one campus in one of 12 U.S. markets: Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, La Jolla, or Malibu, CA; Austin, TX; Atlanta, GA; Boca Raton, FL; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Greenwich, CT; Nashville, TN; or Park City, UT.
About the role
You will be the sole point of contact for families from initial inquiry through the first day of school. A typical week includes responding to every inquiry within four hours, guiding families through the program, facilitating shadow days, documenting interactions in HubSpot, and delivering fit determinations—including declines—in your own voice. You will juggle 20 or more active families concurrently, ensuring each receives a genuine needs assessment before any presentation.
Responsibilities
- Manage the enrollment experience for every prospective family from initial inquiry through onboarding.
- Conduct genuine needs assessments before presenting the school’s model.
- Juggle 20 or more active families simultaneously, responding to inquiries promptly and reviewing applications daily.
- Facilitate campus tours, open houses, information sessions, and shadow days that clearly communicate who the model serves—and who it does not.
- Make admission or decline recommendations and personally deliver the decision to the family.
- Maintain HubSpot and the student information system (SIS) after every touchpoint, leveraging AI tools for preparation and summaries.
- Provide weekly pipeline updates to leadership.
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Pursuing a seat-fill quota; a family who enrolls and departs is a worse outcome than one declined upfront.
- Having your fit assessment overridden to preserve a relationship or meet a yield goal.
- Following scripts, executing call campaigns, or deploying discount-based closings.
- Passing families through a series of coordinators or awaiting committee approval for routine decisions.
- Conducting amenity-focused tours that sidestep difficult questions.
Requirements
- 3+ years in a client-facing role where an individual or family was the buyer at $25,000+ per client or $2,000+ monthly (direct B2C/D2C only; B2B and enterprise sales do not apply).
- Experience managing a client, admissions, or enrollment journey from initial inquiry to commitment decision.
- Simultaneously managed 7+ client relationships in a CRM, database, or tracking platform.
- Advised a prospective client against buying, enrolling, or joining due to poor fit.
- Incorporated AI tools into a client-facing workflow.
- Communicate clearly and professionally in live dialogue and written correspondence with executives, high-net-worth individuals, or similarly demanding clients.
- Delivered polished in-person tours, presentations, meetings, or hosted experiences for affluent families, senior executives, or prominent visitors.
- Developed multi-touch relationships spanning 30+ days and maintained engagement with families not immediately ready to enroll.
- Owned a measurable enrollment, revenue, membership, or high-value customer-acquisition objective, including generating qualified demand and cultivating local referral or community partnerships.
- Currently reside in, or will relocate within 60 days to, an open campus market: Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, La Jolla, or Malibu, CA; Austin, TX; Atlanta, GA; Boca Raton, FL; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Greenwich, CT; Nashville, TN; or Park City, UT.
- Willing to work on-site at your campus every day.
- Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.
Nice-to-have Qualifications
- Admissions or enrollment management background at a selective private, independent, or boarding school.
- Experience in luxury residential real estate, private banking, family office services, concierge medicine, or high-end event planning, where families were your primary clients.
- Designed an enrollment process or service standards rather than inheriting existing frameworks.
- Existing relationships with affluent families, preschools, or family advisors in one of the 12 markets.
- Owner-operator experience in which you personally sold, delivered, and retained high-value clients.
